If you speak to any of my friends or family they will tell you how when it comes to any occasion I will spend hours planning and making it all a wonderful in my head, but for some reason have real difficulty actually bringing the plans to life.

That's why the simple last minute gift ideas always take my vote over the month long creations others so wonderfully produce. I recently showed you a simple Easter gift idea for your child's teacher which you can read here and decided that we'd get creative and make some simple last minute Easter crafts.

First up was this sweet fingerprint card, Eva is a bit bunny mad at the moment and is desperate to have her own. This is super simple and can even be given as a little gift to someone you care about.
We make some chick rocks to hide in our local area. I'm not sure if you have them around where you live but around near us there are lots of rock hiding. This one was aimed more at Noah as he was able to create the chick picture but Eva enjoyed just painting again. You can do this anytime of the year and can find your local rock hiding group on Facebook.
We did some egg painting, Eva particularly enjoyed this activity and although they're no master piece they sure did give her something to concentrate on doing and be proud of at the end.

Giving to others brings me so much joy, I love being able to see my actions and gifts making others smile. One of my favourite quotes is 'Sprinkle kindness around like confetti' and I really try to live by this. That's why whenever I can I like to give people who impact mine or my children's life a little thank you.

I know its a controversial subject giving gifts to teachers at every occasion but I like to think that they are spending more time with my children than I am when they're in full time education and helping you develop them into even more wonderful humans.

I don't believe that you need to spend a fortune to show someone you're thankful for what they do, that's why I decided to pop together these little Easter bags for each of the children's teachers.
All you'll need is:

*Chocolate
*Clear bag
*Ribbon for tying
*Hole punch
*Label
*Pen
*Scissors

I got a few different bags of chocolate ones that are individually wrapped (some people don't like to eat food that others have handled, avoid ones without wrappers) and popped them in a bag, tied them up and attached a label with the teachers name on the back.

Such a simple, wallet friendly way to say thanks. Also perfect if you decide to do something last minute, as I always do.

I found these great labels over at Chaos Served Daily. You can get the free printable here.

Yesterday brought us the second part of Beast from the East, admittedly it was no where near as severe but still we had enough snow and ice for it to stop us doing anything. Jay had work booked in so it was just me and the children all day. Is it just me or does the day feel like it is so much longer when your forced to stay at home and your parenting alone, I have a lot of admiration for single mums.

We had a long lazy morning in bed watching as much Netflix as I could get away with. By just after lunch they were done, they were grouchy, bored and you could feel the energy building inside. I though it would be a good idea to get them both out of the house for some much needed fresh air.

We didn't venture far, it was freezing and so windy but just to be outside for a walk made the world of difference to their moods. They're both still mesmerised by the snow so they walked along jumping in the untouched parts and making snowballs as we walked. Noah found a big stick and was tapping the trees to make the snow fall.

They were just so happy, the fresh air just hit them and they felt free and able to explore which I love to watch. We have an empty field at the bottom of our road so we were completely alone to run, jump and be silly.

By the time we'd looped back to our house, we all had cold hands and red noses so we went in for some well deserved hot chocolate and marshmallows.

A lovely little snowy adventure, unplanned and gorgeous.

Waking up on the final day of holiday always leaves you with that feeling in the pit of your stomach, it doesn't matter how long you've been away nobody likes coming back to reality. We decided to make another full day of it so we packed up the car and drove to our next destination.

We arrived at Beddgelert and we were instantly drawn in by is charm. It's a small village right in the heart for Snowdonia. There is a slow running river running through the middle and is full of the most charming cottages and quirky shops. I can imagine sitting on the grass having a picnic here in the summer.
Our final stop on the way home was at the magnificent Fairy Glen just outside Betws-Y-Coed. It's tucked away behind a farm and is privately owned by the farmer. It costs 50p per person to enter and then you're left to explore. It's a good gravelled path along to the fairy glen, if you have a pushchair you could bypass the fairy glen and take a beautiful walk on the riverside. The route is not for the fainthearted and you'll need to be extra vigilant when taking children. You gradually walk higher and higher next to the river until you reach some steep, slippery slate steps. This is the part I can imagine most people with children would have turned round and
It was both mine and my husbands first time to Wales without being on a school trip and we are so annoyed with ourselves that this is the first time we've been. As soon as you drive an hour in over the border of England you are struck with beauty all around. Every few hundred yards there are waterfalls on the side of the road, the rivers run along side and there are places you can pull over to get a closer look. You could go there and not spend a penny visiting attractions and still see some of the most beautiful sites you will ever see.
We will definitely be returning to Snowdonia, maybe next time when the weathers a bit nicer and we can explore some of there incredible beaches. It's definitely not about just climbing Mount Snowdon and it's certainly a holiday where you can take children of all ages.

If you have a child you'll know that there is no filter on what comes out of their mouths, sometimes this makes for a pretty uncomfortable situation. My most memorable one came from Noah, we were in the queue in Monsoon and he quite loudly just said "Mummy, why is that lady so fat...!!" I wanted the ground to swallow me up, she turned around and luckily didn't seem to take offence but still I over apologised and paid and left as quickly as I could. This moment will stay with my for the rest of my life and I'm sure I'll tease him when he's older about it.

I asked Noah these questions and was really intrigued to what his answers would be.

This Sunday is all about celebrating mothers for everything they do throughout the year. Like anyone I love the homemade cards, tea and cuddles in bed and throwing the 'it's mothers day' to my husband when it comes to clearing up, but really I wouldn't even be celebrating March 11th as a mother if it wasn't for my two beautiful children. I am so grateful to have them in my life.
This is what I want them to know....

To my incredible little humans,

Firstly let me thank you. Thank you for choosing me to be your mother, for letting me experience the power of unconditional love. I love you both more than I will ever be able to express with words.

I know I'm not perfect, sometimes I shout at you too quickly when I could have just sat with you and talked it through, when you drag bedtime out and on the 10th time of coming upstairs to see what you want I'm cross instead of knowing that you just aren't tired and when after asking you to do something over and over again instead of helping you I might use some harsh words. After all of that I thank you for your forgiveness, I've made mistakes and I'm sure I will make more but you're with me through it all.

You have both taught me, to face my fears so you can see that every challenge you meet can be faced, to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life I love looking at the world through your eyes, that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and be accepted just the way they are and that Daddy and Mummy make the best team when we work together, our relationship is stronger because of you.

There are so many reasons I am grateful to be your Mum and in no order here are a few.

* When you come to me and cuddle me and tell me you love me for no reason. You have no idea how much joy it brings to my heart.
* When I hear your foot steps creeping into our room. Most nights I can't wait for you to go to bed so I can relax with Daddy, but I feel nothing but happiness when you come to wake us up in the morning.
* How you snuggle right in to read your favourite story. There's no better feeling that when you're completely relaxed and cuddled into me.
* Listening to an outbreak of giggles. It's music to my ears to hear how well you both get along and how happy you are.
* When you accomplish anything, even the smallest of things make me so incredibly proud.
* When you wake up during the night and I snuggle you back in and you say in a sleepy voice I love you, night night. In that moment life is perfect.
* Watching your imagination come to life. You shine so much light into my life.

Being a Mummy is hard work, there's no annual leave or designated breaks. Someday's I don't have the energy to get up and be the parent that you deserve but we all have those days. Soon I'll miss you constantly asking me for a snack or to wipe you on the toilet just as I've sat down and I'll be helping you move out and not tucking you in every night. I can tell you now that I will always only be a phone call away no matter where in the world you may be, I will never see you struggle and will guide you in every way I know possible.

So again thank you my incredible children, thank you for letting me be your mum, it's the greatest privilege of my life.

I love you indescribably,

Mummy xx

Just like that my beautiful, sweet, funny and delicious little princess has turned three. Watching her grow and smile each day is the greatest thing in the world. She has the most infectious laugh and she melts the hearts of everyone she meets. Her heart is so big and full of empathy for everyone who crosses her path. It's makes me so sad she's growing so quickly, but watching her grow fills me with such joy and happiness.

On her birthday we woke up to being snowed in, although it changed our plans it meant we ended up having a slow chilled day, we even managed to sneak out and get some yummy milkshakes at a cool diner we found in our local town.
Eva's still a bit young for a big birthday party so we decided to throw her a little birthday tea and invited her family and close friends over for some cake. This mummy even stepped out of her comfort zone and made her a cake, it was far from perfect but when her little face lit up when she saw it, the 1 major meltdown didn't seem so bad. She had a fantastic time celebrating with the ones who love her most. I hope she continues to shine her way through this world, I love this little girl more than she will ever know.
