He's been back for over a week now and my what a fun week he had. I've shared what he's been up to since he's been back to hopefully give you all some inspiration.

Since he first appeared we've always had a big North Pole breakfast for the children, but it was even more exciting for them this year as he was visiting them at their new house. This year the 1st of December fell on a school day so a breakfast of sugar wouldn't have been the best idea. I opted for pancake and fruit in the shape of an elf and a fruit candy cane. There was a freshly baked banana cake and North Pole milk for them both. He decorated the table and room, and brought the children a christmas activity book each. The welcome sign and I'm back banner were made on Microsoft Word and I just printed them out. I made the garland with some pom pom's and thread. I found the behaviour charts in Poundland and they seem to be a big hit with the children.
Day two Chippy decided to play hide and seek in the toilet rolls.
Day three, Chippy was watching the children from high up in the lights.
Day four, Chippy hid some candy canes on the Christmas tree for the children to find. You can find the simply wonderful free printable's here. (Does anybody else's writing become child like when your being an elf...)
Day five, Chippy went sledging down the stairs.
Day six, Chippy had a midnight feast of Nutella.
Day seven, Chippy hid out of the way of having a house full of builders all day.
I get so much inspiration from looking on Instagram and Pinterest, if you have any magical elf ideas please share them below in the comments box.

We're into the 2 week countdown until our little friend will be back. I made a rod for my own back when Chippy first arrived and now simply moving him each night will not do.

I'm a list maker through and through and find if I'm going to have any chance of being remotely organised, I need to write my thoughts down.

I decided this year to make a calendar to write down what I would be doing with Chippy on each day. I put all of the main ideas in first such as arrival breakfast, letter from Father Christmas and Christmas eve box and then fill in the gaps with ideas we haven't used before.
I've attached the pdf which your all welcome to print out and use to help keep track of your ideas.

Elf Calendar 2017

Elf Calendar 2018

I've found lots of useful supplies on the internet and will be sharing them weekly with what Chippy has been up to at our house.

The world is feeling a little bit sad at the moment so I've added a little act of kindness each day for the children to try and do that will hopefully bring a smile to someone.

Here's to a month of not being able to go to bed until the little red man has moved!

Jay's been working all hours at the moment so I've been solo parenting a lot. Now don't get me wrong I love spending time with my children but not having my tag team partner is really bloody hard.

I feel like I'm letting them down because doing fun things at the weekend by yourself carries guilt that Daddy is missing out, but not doing them means they're missing out. Its a constant battle of keeping everyone happy.

After a pretty awful night with Eva, she's taken a liking to our new bed and has decided she wants to sleep in there with us all of the time and a difficult start to the morning with two children who had apparently gone deaf and had forgotten any manners they had been taught, we decided that we would wrap up and go out for an adventure at some local woodlands.

We had a wonderful time roaming around the woods spotting things, we laughed a lot, made silly jokes and ran around. Fresh air and no rules seem to make the world of difference when it comes to how the children behave.
I'm terrible for constantly worrying what people are thinking of me, judging me as a mother and questioning my actions. I often get told 'you're awfully young to have two children' and admittedly that really hurts. So when a group of older ladies were approaching us they stopped still and were constantly taking a look over to us, I immediately stopped the laughter and started to act more 'appropriate' and shuffled the children along. It wasn't until we were just walking past one of the ladies stopped me and said 'I hope you didn't stop on our account, we were watching how wonderfully you and  your children were playing. They look so happy and are a real credit to you, your doing a fantastic job.' I could feel my cheeks burning and a smile was on my face from ear to ear. I felt so incredibly proud of myself and my children.

So thank you to the lovely stranger I met in the woods on Sunday, you have no idea what those simple words did to my self esteem and I will cherish them in my hours of parenting failures. I'm making a promise to my self to not let my worry about others opinions stop me making the best memories for my children.

Here's to acting a fool and laughing too much!

I can still remember the feeling of fully believing in magic and fairies, I don't think its a feeling that ever leaves you. I've been following Amy (LolasLittlePalace) over on Instagram for a few years now and I've been desperate to get one of her enchanting fairy doors for Eva's room, as soon as we moved and her shop re opened I wasted no time sending in my order.

The door arrived beautifully packaged and with the sweetest note on the front and the addition of a miniature key was such a wonderful touch. I read the note out to Eva and she was instantly excited about the idea of having fairies coming into her room.
The door comes handmade out of sustainable sourced plywood, painted and primed and then hand cut bunting is added across the door. At present there are 20 different colour options and even some holiday styles available. Once you've chosen your colour you can then go ahead an personalise your door with either your child's name or the name of their fairy. We opted for Blush pink and glitter as our little lady is a big fan of pink and sparkles so it suited her flawlessly.
We picked a spot just above her skirting board not far from her bed and popped it on with the double sided sticky pads that come supplied. She just sat next to it talking to the fairies for about 10 minutes. She was so careful when trying to open the lock with the key (it doesn't actually fit so don't leave little ones unattended with it) explaining to me that the fairies will come when she's asleep and if she's a really good girl.
Amy offers lots of great additional items you can add to your fairy doors, I'm going to get some more when Eva is a bit older and I can't wait for her to make magical memories. I would recommend these doors to anyone looking to bring fairy magic into their home. Check out Lola's Little Palace over on Etsy here.

Autumn is officially here, although it's felt like it for at least the last month. This time of the year is hands down my favourite, everywhere looks so pretty with the ever changing leaves, the nights are darker and cosier and as my son says its time for snuggles and hot chocolate on the sofa. Candle sales are through the roof and the slow cooker is on permanently. It also means (don't shout at me) that Christmas will be here before we know it.

I love the idea of bucket lists, so I'm going to create one and pop it up in the kitchen so we can keep an eye on all the things I want us to do. I'll share it with you once I've put it together.

I can't wait to get outside with the children, search for conkers, decorate the house for Halloween, have fallen leaf wars and jump in the biggest puddles.

What are your favourite things to do in Autumn?

Just over a year ago I married the most wonderful man, in an incredible venue on a day I will never forget.

I'm not sure what it is that makes time seem to pass so quickly when you get older but it's seriously whizzing past and I wish it would slow down. Our wedding day was just completely perfect and I have no regrets or would have made any changes to the day. We made it so personal to us and the day was about being with our family and closest friends and letting them share our happiness.

With over 1000 photos to look at whenever I choose, I've picked my favourite to share with you all.
Enjoy.
