3 DAYS IN CORNWALL

by - October 24, 2016

I cannot explain the sudden rush of relief when Jay came home from work Thursday evening. He has been working so much recently it feels like we never see him. I'd pretty much packed us all and was so ready for Friday to come. I felt like a kid at Christmas when I woke up Friday morning and knew I had my three all to my self for 3 whole days!!

We had a 5 hour drive to reach Penzance so we decided to spread it out and stop off at Cheddar Gorge on the way. Its one of my favourite places to stop off at, we went there a lot when I was younger and I get instant happy memories when we pull up. It was so quiet because we were there on a week day out of season, we could just mooch around and hardly saw anyone.

Once we arrived in Penzance we headed straight out to walk from Penzance beach over to St. Michaels mount, it was the perfect time to do it the tide was out so we could walk right across and back.

Saturday we went to the beautiful village of Porthcurno it has the most beautiful houses and gorgeous views. We went to the Telegraph museum and the children were in their element there was so much for them to see and do and again it was so quiet they could just run around and not get in anyone's way.
After the museum we walked down to the absolutely breathtaking cove, there was only a handful of people when we arrived and by the time we left we had the beach completely to ourselves, it was absolutely freezing down there we didn't stay for to long but to just stand and look at the blue water was magical.

Our last day we decided to go to the Tremenheere Sculpture gardens. I was a bit apprehensive about how much fun the children could have looking at sculptures but I was so mistaken. It was incredible, there was a ginormous woodland to explore full of wildlife and waterfalls the children were in their complete element. Then there were beautiful gardens full of interesting sculputuresd and art. Our favourites were the Camera Obscura created by Billy Wynter and Skyspace created by James Turrell. If your in the area or planning a holiday this place is an absolute must.

We had such a magical time, a week in the summer next year is already booked in.
