Hi Guys, I don't know about you but over the last year I have been super impressed with Rimmel, they have brought out so many amazing products and still kept there affordable pricing. I have read really mixed reviews about the stay matte liquid mousse foundation so was eager to give it a try myself.

The foundation comes in six shades to accommodate for most skin shades. I chose the shade Ivory 100 as I have found with most Rimmel products this matches my skin colour the closest. The products description says  "Feather light, liquid mousse blends flawlessly for natural-looking, all day shine control. Silky smooth formula leaves a perfectly matte, baby-soft finish. Lightweight texture won’t feel heavy or greasy. Minimises the appearance of pores. Oil Free." This is a high promise for a product with the price tag of just £5.99.

Firstly I was impressed with the packaging, I liked how the tube had a matte effect, which I though was a nice little touch as the product is matte. The tube is a really convenient size and doesn't take up too much space in my make up bag. I like that its in a tube instead of a bottle as you can really feel like your going to be able to use all of the product and not leave the last bit when you can't reach it.
Recently I have been breaking out quite badly, I'm not really sure what has been causing it but for any other acne sufferers out there you'll know it often shows up at anytime unannounced. So I was looking for a foundation which covered my blemishes and scars but also provided me with a matte finish that lasted longer than an hour. A lot to ask for hey!
So many products with high price tags always claim that you only need a tiny amount each time and you find that your actually using quite a lot to achieve the coverage. This product definitely does not require a large amount it comes out thicker than you'll expect, I would say a pea sized amount is plenty and you will still achieve high coverage. The product has combined two of the best types of foundation liquid and mousse and turned it into a great long lasting product.
As I know no matter how good a foundation is it will never completely cover my acne and acne scars, I pair it with my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte Concealer and I have to admit, it covers pretty darn well. Even my evil mean red blemishes are well and truly hidden. I applied the product with my Real Techniques Expert Face brush and found the application was smooth and streak free. My face was left feeling smooth and even and I wasn't left with a cakey effect. I found it lasted around 8 hours without a need to touch up my powder which to someone who had to re powder every hour before was amazing!

I would recommend this product to anyone who suffers from oily skin or more oily combination. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has a dry complexion as I think it will cling to your dry parts and leave you with an uneven cakey effect.

Has anyone tried this foundation? What are your thoughts?

  4. I tried this a little while ago, but found it stuck to the more dry areas of my skin around my cheeks. I found the best way to use it was on my oily areas also!
