Hey Guys, I don't even know where to begin with telling you all about our magical trip to Disneyland Paris. It was an experience I will never forget. Noah was at a perfect age to appreciate the magic and he had the cutest surprised face the whole time. I managed to capture his expression when he spotted the castle, and it was the most beautiful excited face I have ever seen. We stayed in the New York hotel which was less than a 5 minute walk into the park and meant we had an extra 2 hours in the morning before the general public went in. We made the most of all of our time there and did everything we could possibly fit in. We even managed to fit a whole day in Paris which made the trip even more special for me. Paris was a lot dirtier than I expected but apart from that it was brilliant. We went up the Eiffel Tower, found the Arc de Triomphe, walked down Champs-Élysées and found the most festive, beautiful Christmas Market. I wanted to share a few photos of our trip with you. Hope you enjoy.
Have any of you guys taken your little ones to Disneyland or been away this winter?

Hey Guys, I've been on the look out for a new affordable mascara which gives me long lasting, covered lashes. I found this one when looking through last months Avon catalogue and couldn't resist giving it ago when I saw the unusual design.

When the product arrived it comes with a full set of instructions on the inside of the box, which is necessary as its not something I have come across before. The instructions give you a detailed step by step guide on how to get the most out of the design.

First impressions are its a lot shorter and wider than your traditional mascara, the shape is more of a rectangle tube rather than round. Its light and compact and doesn't take up any extra room in your make up bag so its ideal for traveling and fitting into the smallest of bags.

Once you remove the pink lid you met with a pink handle coming out of the black base. Without reading the instructions you might be a bit confused on how to get the wand out, its pretty stuck in. Give it a wiggle from side to side and you will feel the wand release. You will see the wand is flexible which comes in handy when trying to apply in tricky areas.

Once the brush is removed you will discover the wand is shaped a bit like a paint brush. I have read reviews which claim that the brush is difficult to use but I disagree. I like the fact that you use the brush straight instead of on the side like traditional mascara brushes. You do have to be careful you don't end up poking yourself in the eye as going straight towards your eye does take some getting used to. You'll find you cant pump this mascara, if you need additional product then just put the wand back in and take it out again.

The shade is blackest black and the colour is highly pigmented, it really is what it says on the tin. The application is spread easily and evenly across your lashes and your not left with clumps on your lashes. The texture isn't dry and flakey its more watery and creamy which means your not left with flakes around your eyes.

When returning the wand into the container you just need to make sure you hear it click back into place so you don't run the risk of the product drying out. The product is fairly easy to remove, I would suggest using a eye make up remover to protect your eyes from excessive rubbing if you try to use a facial wash alone.
Over all I am really happy with this product I think its really interesting and provides you with great dark lashes. I will be re-purchasing this product for sure.

Have you tried this mascara or have a mascara you couldn't live without?

Hi Guys, I don't know about you but over the last year I have been super impressed with Rimmel, they have brought out so many amazing products and still kept there affordable pricing. I have read really mixed reviews about the stay matte liquid mousse foundation so was eager to give it a try myself.

The foundation comes in six shades to accommodate for most skin shades. I chose the shade Ivory 100 as I have found with most Rimmel products this matches my skin colour the closest. The products description says  "Feather light, liquid mousse blends flawlessly for natural-looking, all day shine control. Silky smooth formula leaves a perfectly matte, baby-soft finish. Lightweight texture won’t feel heavy or greasy. Minimises the appearance of pores. Oil Free." This is a high promise for a product with the price tag of just £5.99.

Firstly I was impressed with the packaging, I liked how the tube had a matte effect, which I though was a nice little touch as the product is matte. The tube is a really convenient size and doesn't take up too much space in my make up bag. I like that its in a tube instead of a bottle as you can really feel like your going to be able to use all of the product and not leave the last bit when you can't reach it.
Recently I have been breaking out quite badly, I'm not really sure what has been causing it but for any other acne sufferers out there you'll know it often shows up at anytime unannounced. So I was looking for a foundation which covered my blemishes and scars but also provided me with a matte finish that lasted longer than an hour. A lot to ask for hey!
So many products with high price tags always claim that you only need a tiny amount each time and you find that your actually using quite a lot to achieve the coverage. This product definitely does not require a large amount it comes out thicker than you'll expect, I would say a pea sized amount is plenty and you will still achieve high coverage. The product has combined two of the best types of foundation liquid and mousse and turned it into a great long lasting product.
As I know no matter how good a foundation is it will never completely cover my acne and acne scars, I pair it with my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte Concealer and I have to admit, it covers pretty darn well. Even my evil mean red blemishes are well and truly hidden. I applied the product with my Real Techniques Expert Face brush and found the application was smooth and streak free. My face was left feeling smooth and even and I wasn't left with a cakey effect. I found it lasted around 8 hours without a need to touch up my powder which to someone who had to re powder every hour before was amazing!

I would recommend this product to anyone who suffers from oily skin or more oily combination. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has a dry complexion as I think it will cling to your dry parts and leave you with an uneven cakey effect.

Has anyone tried this foundation? What are your thoughts?

Hi Guys, I've had a big change in my little world this week...I'm a brunette!!

I've been blonde for the last 5 years and unfortunately as much as I love it, its become too high maintenance for me as its pretty far from my natural colour. Let me explain to you why I made the dramatic change. I've recently had my colours analysed (post to come) which was a really good eye opener into the colours that suit my skin tone the best and where I have been going wrong, but the biggest revelation for me was how much my hair colour was effecting the way my skin looked. I have naturally light ash brown hair (I think) and dying it medium ash blonde was just too far away from my natural colour to work.

So I took it upon myself to change it, I chose to use John Freida Light Ash Brown 6A. This is what the result looks like.
Its a lot darker than I expected and I should have know that the colours never turn out like they say on the packet, but I thought as I had chosen a professional brand with a good reputation I would be ok. It seems to be a bit grey on the ends but I think that's the remainder of the bleach I had a while ago. It needs a good cut as being darker really shows up split ends. The colour is still lighter than my eyebrows and has slowly faded since I took this picture, next time I think I'll buy my colour from Sally's.

Have you guys decided to return to your natural colour or darker for autumn?

Hi Guys, I recently took the plunge and have started to update my make up brush collection. As always I did hours of research on which brand was the best value for money and which had the best reviews. I made a decision to go with the real technique collection as they offer a huge variety of brushes at really affordable prices and still manage to keep to a professional standard. The brush collection is designed by Samantha Chapman from Pixiwoo. Both of the brushes I'm reviewing today are from the 'base' collection.

The first brush I purchased was the real technique expert face brush. I have been using the ELF stippling brush (click here to see my review) to apply my foundation but after hearing and reading the fantastic reviews I new I had to give this one a go and boy oh boy am I glad I did. The brush claims to give you pixel perfect finish in even harsh light. It's ultra plush, synthetic bristles are hand cut and 100% cruelty free, the brush is self standing and light weight.
I have been using this brush for about a week and I have seen the biggest difference I have ever seen when changing make up brushes. The first day I used it I was using a buffing motion and to be honest I was a bit disappointed with the finish but I quickly realised that the brush isn't designed to be buffed it works by using sweeping strokes like an ordinary foundation brush. The bristle are extremely soft and when I felt it I didn't think it was going to feel as firm as it does when applying my foundation. The brush doesn't cling on to excess foundation it spreads what you have applied evenly and with a flawless streak free finish. The brushes dome shape design makes applying foundation to the harder to reach places on your face such as under your eyes and the side of the nose effortless. I am beyond happy with this brush and really feel it has made a massive difference in my daily make up routine. You can see Samantha Chapman's tutorial here on YouTube.
The second brush I purchase was the real technique powder brush. After feeling how super soft the bristles were on the expert brush I could only imagine how soft the powder brush would be, and yes I was right it feels like satin on my skin. This brush is the softest powder brush I have ever come across. The brush also has synthetic bristles which are hand cut and 100% cruelty free, the brush is self standing and light weight. You can see Samantha Chapmans powder brush tutorial here on YouTube.
I use this brush to apply loose powder to set my foundation and as I suffer with extremely oily skin setting my foundation is the most important step of my make up routine. I have found the large size of the brush has helped apply the powder in a lot less strokes and has made it last longer. I like that the top of the brush is white so you can see exactly how much product you have on there. This brush finishes the final stage of creating a flawless canvas on your skin and is versatile enough to use to apply blusher and bronzer. I have found the brushes extremely easy to clean and so far I haven't had any bristle shedding. They seem to dry faster than my ELF brushes as well.
Using these two brushes together has made a life changing difference to my skin, the expert brush applies foundation covering my acne scars completely and the powder brush has helped me stay oil free for longer. I cannot recommended these brushes enough they are 100% worth the price and would be an invaluable piece in anyones make up brush collection.

I got my brushes from boots expert face brush here and powder brush here you can also buy them on amazon and in most Superdrugs.

Have any of you guys tried these brushes or have any other favourite real technique brushes?

Hey guys, if your anything like me (addicted to buying make up even though I probably will never use it) you have probably got eye shadows and blushes which you brought and have never used or used on one occasion sitting in a box or bag somewhere forgotten about.

Enter the world of creating your own nail colour.

I came across this after playing around one evening and realised I had found a perfect matte colour, one which I couldn't find in the shops anywhere and I had finally got a use for the huge box of unused eye shadows and blushes I had under my bed.

The only materials you'll require are a lid/pot, clear nail varnish and an eye shadow colour of your choice.

To start with you're going to need to crush some of your eye shadow, then add clear nail varnish and mix them together until you have a creamy, lump free liquid.

Then paint your nail as you would with nail varnish and its as simple as that, you've created your very own nail colour.

The lovely thing about using eyeshadow is it gives you a matte effect, which as we know is right on trend this season. You can apply clear polish once you have thoroughly cleaned the brush to give it a glossy finish. I have painted my ring finger with an extra coat of clear.

You can use any colour you like and can mix colours together, the possibilities are endless.

Go on and try it yourselves, let me know how you get on and which colour is your new fave.

Hey guys, I get so excited when I have new ideas to share with you all (and I have so many in my head bursting to get out).

Don't get me wrong I love water marbling and the amount of effects you can create, what I don't like is how messy it is. So I wanted to share a fun idea for those of you who haven't mastered the water marble. This technique is a lot easier and a lot less messy. I love this effect, it gives you a watercolour, water marble effect without a single drop of water.

To achieve this look you will require the following:

Base coat
3 coloured polishes
Top Coat
Nail varnish remover and brush
Sandwich bag (not pictured)
Paint your nails with a base colour, I have chosen white as it sits well under my main colours. You want a colour that will compliment the colours you choose for marbling.

You then, once you have chose your colours place generous blobs of colours over your nails, don't worry if they mix or don't have a pattern that's what we want.

Then take your sandwich bag and place it over the nail, then gently move the bag across the nail so you can see the colours moving and mixing. Be careful not to push to hard with your finger as you will end up with a smudged look instead of marbled.
Your nail should look like this once you remove it.

Then taking a thin nail brush soaked in nail varnish remover, go around the edges of the nail to remove any smudged colour. If you haven't got a nail brush using a orange stick wrapped in cotton wool will you give you the thin tool you'll need.
Then the most important part is to apply a top coat, this sets all the colours and really brings out the marble effect.

And there we go, perfect no water marble nails.

Let me know how you get on if you try it, and I love to see pictures.

Hey Guys, I wanted to share with you a little secret hairstyle I've been wearing at the moment.

The funny thing about it is, its the most simple style that really makes a difference to a pony tail.

So to start with you want to pull your hair into a middle low pony tail making sure theres no bumps as this is a neat hairstyle.

Then once your happy with that take your thumb and middle finger and create a hole above the hair tie.

Keeping the hole open take the end of the pony tail and push through the hoe in the whole thing is through.

And there we have it one not so average pony tail.

Hope you enjoy trying this out.

Hi Guys, there's nothing I love more than fun and glittery nails. So I wanted to show you how I created my half glitter nail art.

Lets start off with what your going to need:

A clear poilish which can work as your base and top coat
A light polish to use as your main colour
A glitter polish with a good quantity of glitter in for easy application
An angled nail brush to apply glitter in a straight line

Once you have filed and shaped your nail and applied a base coat. You then need to apply your main colour to the nails. I have chosen OPI Princess as this is a really pretty light pink. I always apply two coats to make sure the nail looks even and there is no light streaks.

Once the nail varnish has has a couple of minutes to dry you need to take your angled nail brush and apply some of the glitter nail varnish. I have chosen Rimmel I love lasting finish in Disco Ball. Then draw your diagonal line from the top corner of your nail to the opposite corner covering the whole of the tip. Once you are happy with the line then fill in the section using dabbing motions. Painting this on like normal varnish will cause lines in the gliiter.

Once your happy with your application, let the glitter dry for a minute or so and apply a top coat to protect the varnish from chipping.

Let me know how you get on if you try this :)

xoxo
